Martha Aguilar

Martha Carolina Aguilar is a bilingual family support specialist and disability advocate with over 15 years of experience supporting families of children with disabilities. Eighteen years ago, she welcomed her youngest daughter, Angela, whose journey became the inspiration behind the work she continues to do today. 

Martha’s areas of expertise include special education services (IEPs and ARDs), Medicaid waiver programs, mental health resources, Social Security benefits, and transition planning for adulthood. She previously served as a Family Support Coordinator for a statewide nonprofit organization and founded RGV Discover Life, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families of children with Down Syndrome in the Rio Grande Valley.
