Timmie Bui

Timmie is a proud second-generation immigrant, with family from Vietnam. Her childhood experience of homelessness and inspirational teachers is what drives her to stay connected to her community and the public education system. Through her educational journey, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. She is now about to embark on a new career change as a Project Manager with the City of Austin's Capital Delivery Services department. For the last 20+ years, Timmie has dedicated her time serving on local non-profit organizations such as A.S.I.A. Foundation, Austin Rosewood Community Development Corporation and Austin Council of PTAs. Timmie thrives on spending quality time with her two boys with special needs, values having alone time with her partner and is incredibly grateful for VELA's direct impact on her family's happiness. Timmie is honored to serve VELA and its mission!
