For Isabella, it would be filled with counting blocks. Her mom, Angie, tells us she can’t get enough of them. Counting blocks come up often — during special education meetings, therapy sessions, even neurology visits — a small but powerful way for Angie to remind everyone who Isabella is beyond the diagnoses, acronyms, and appointments.
Every day, parents of children with disabilities show up in extraordinary ways — navigating systems, coordinating therapies, to make sure their child gets access to everything they need and deserve.
But as more and more supports and services disappear, this journey becomes even harder. That's where VELA steps in.
